About Ron
Ron Medlin, Jr. combines a finance background with aggressive trial skills, bringing a unique analytical perspective to complex civil litigation. A Cum Laude graduate of Appalachian State University with dual degrees in Finance and Banking, and a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, Mr. Medlin has established himself as one of the firm's most versatile and effective trial attorneys.
At Appalachian State, Mr. Medlin was a member of the Varsity Track team while also serving on the University Judicial Board and Academic Integrity Board. At UNC Law, he distinguished himself as a member of the International Law Moot Court team, where he received the award for Best Oral Argument — an early indicator of the courtroom skill that would define his career. He also served as Coach and Advisor to the UNC Chapel Hill Sailing Team.
Since gaining admission to the North Carolina Bar and Federal Courts in 2003, Mr. Medlin has tried numerous cases to successful jury verdicts across a wide range of liability theories. His primary practice areas include civil litigation, insurance defense, homeowners association representation, construction defect litigation, federal litigation, and products liability.
Mr. Medlin's HOA practice is a particular strength, representing community associations in disputes involving construction defects, assessment collection, covenant enforcement, and board governance matters. His construction defect work frequently involves complex multi-party litigation requiring coordination among contractors, subcontractors, developers, and insurance carriers.
Colleagues and clients consistently praise Mr. Medlin's thoroughness, accessibility, and strategic approach. As one longtime collaborator noted: "Ron is a skilled lawyer who is incredibly easy to work with and has the legal acumen to handle anything that may arise... he always had our client's best interest in mind when making legal decisions and recommendations."
